PONCHO 20th International Wine Auction
Oh What A Night.... May 17, 2011 marked the 20th year for PONCHO's International Wine Auction! PONCHO (patrons of Northwest Civic, cultural, and Charitable Organizations) raised over $800,000 dollars for the arts.
The Hollywood styled evening was in full swing as Seattle's wine savvy arrived to red carpet festivities hosted by Duell Fisher founder of Team Photogenic including step and repeat photos, a "live" stream of the exuberent crowd, a silent auction, barrel tasting by Cadence winery, assorted open bars, and plenty of spirited comeraderie .
Auction Chair Tamara Wilson of Wilson Public Relations, Mistress of Ceremonies Patti Payne and auctioneer Fritz Hatton (longtime friend from the days when he was at Christie's Auction house and founder of Arietta Winery in Napa Valley) led the energetic crowd in competitave bidding.
Honorary chair Dan Duckhorn from Napa Valley offered a flavorful California theme to this years event all in the name of raising money for the arts. Having chaired this event in 2007, and Greg chairing in 2003, and as PONCHO Board members, it was fun to see so many familiar faces in attendance as well as the many wine afficianados, and past PONCHO Presidents having such a great evening all while doing what we do best, raising money for such a great cause for our Community. We hosted the "FUN" table with guests Rob Angel & Amy Samac, Deborah Adams, Patti Savoy, Sheila Otter, Kate McKinney & Simon Weaver.
The evening was capped off by heading to the Westin Hotel to catch Kool & the Gang, the late night entertainment for the Virginia Mason Dreambuilders Ball. Dancing into the wee hours with friends Gary & Wendy Kaplan, Ian & Laura MacNeil, and Peter & Kelly McLaughlin made for a perfect evening!
