A reflection on your personal style journey.
Yves Saint Laurent once said, “Fashion fades, style is eternal”. We dress women who are on a quest for personal style. They come to us with questions such as “what colors best complement my skin tone?” and “ what type of neck line best frames my face and my shape?” These are the questions that we love to answer; after all, it’s our passion to dress and style each woman to celebrate her own beauty and individuality.
This leads us to another question: “at which step are we in our personal journey?” Throughout the years you have grown with Luly Yang Couture; from her first 12 bridal gown samples in 2000, to the Passage to Shanghai couture collection in 2006, to our most recent inspiration, Ocean, and our 2012 Diamond and Precious Metals collection. Through out the process you have shared our fashion dreams, posed, smiled, celebrated and cheered us on as we continue to be inspired by our clients and fans. But now the sun is out and everyone knows what that means – it’s spring!
After being in business for ten years, we love more then ever, our business of dressing elegant and inspirational women! With spring in the air, Seattleites are planning to dress up and celebrate the changing of the seasons, whether your purchase be a classic strand of pearls or a new feminine silk chiffon dress to your wardrobe.
In this spirit we have engaged in a little journey of our own and have recently put many pieces from our couture bridal and evening wear collections on sample sale. Sometimes we need to revisit our style and, much like a garden that remains in one place, growing something new and fresh each spring. We love allowing our style blossom through our personal growth.
To answer our previous question, we feel that style and aesthetics are planted within the hearts and souls of each of our clients. We feel ourselves growing as we continue to guide them on their style choices. In our backyards we have a special location for our gardens, much like the room we make in our hearts for style. Every year we plant a dynamic new collection that grows with the season, but at its center our passion remains the same.
On a fun note, here are some universal style options that are sure to add a little sparkle to your spring:
- Bling is in! Earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Whether you are wearing a sequined dress (like Jennifer Lopez at the 2011 Grammy Awards) or something slightly more subtle (take Oprah’s gorgeous pink bracelet she wore on the final tapping of her show) adding a little sparkle to your wardrobe is sure to create drama.
- Complete your look with a headpiece. A timeless look for spring is to wear a precious fascinator or headpiece that gives your dress a little extra finesse and finish.
