Kris&Kate / "Maxi-mizing" Summer Trends
After my A-list highlights (see "Color shot") I started thinking about all the incredible Maxi-dresses that are the trend this summer. I immediately thought of my dear friend Christy and her virtuous on-line shopping site kris&kate.com. Women worldwide benefit from this new concept in shopping online. The brainchild of Christi Sandvik and Kathy Hennessy, formerly of Christi's on Main in Bellevue, is a unique shopping experience which combines shopping and giving. kris&kate.com gives ten percent of every purchase to two inspirational organizations which give women all around the Globe small business loans to give them an opportunity to escape poverty and sex trafficking while making their dreams of providing for their families a reality.
This summer's hottest trend, the maxi dress, shown here in a rich, wet cement shade of grey "Bailey 44 Tornado Dress" (pictured above) will take you from the resort in flip flops to an evening out with heels.
I love shopping for a purpose. Now I was paired with highlights and maxi dress...perfection.
All dolled up and looking for a place to go I decided to take a trip to Ballard to find Curtis Steiner and his eclectic gift shop. I had heard about the artist before but had never ventured to his beautiful storefront. Filled with unique, handcrafted greeting cards, jewelry and trinkets I was mesmerized by the one-of-a-kind necklaces by 2ETN like the Papillon Necklace featured here.
Using period antiques and reclaimed precious stones, these chunky, exclusive pieces are show stopping!
My hope is that warm weather is around the corner but, with or without nice weather, our city is bursting with personal expression and originality to make any day "sunny."
