World Premier Of Disney's "Aladdin" Takes The 5th Avenue Theatre By Storm
Thanks to our fabulous contributor, Duell Fisher of Team Photogenic, for connecting me to the World Premier of Disney's Aladdin at the iconic 5th Avenue Theatre last night. True to 5th Avenue form, this production was nothing short of spectacular (the warning sign which read "fog, strobe lighting, and pyrotechnics" might have been my first clue).
Equally as remarkable, were the cast of characters so perfectly suited to fill the stage. Adam Jacobs (Aladdin) and Courtney Reed (Jasmine) were every bit as magical as the original VHS edition I remembered. James Monroe Iglehart, got "Genie" to a tee. His booming voice, comedic timing, and commanding stage presence stole the show (for this humble fan at least, and what appeared to be the whole audience during the roaring standing ovations).
