A Swingin' Good Time at the Festival of the Fountains
Seattle's own Pacific Science Center was alive and feelin' the 1960's vibe on Friday Night. Chaired this year by Jane and Dan McConnell, and attended by over 525 people, the sun was out and Seattle was dressed and ready for an evening of fun, and of course, festivities. This years event dedicated fundraising efforts for a new exhibit for kids that will demonstrate healthy behaviors, attitudes, and choices for kids surrounding nutrition and exercise. The theme of the 1960's ran through the evening as couples and groups sporting 60's attire walked the red carpet (think beehive's, eyeliner, and men dressed in their best "Mad Men" suits). Each table feature nostalgic 60's toys including Slinkys, miniature Etch-A-Sketches, and rocket ship pens.
Shelly Son and her fiance, Dan Madsen completely looked the part with Shelly in a stunning long flowing green and blue gown. SPOTLIGHTseattle Contributor, Cathi Hatch and her husband Ken were also in attendance, fresh from the hospital and the birth of their newest grandchild.
The reception featured delicious hors d'oeuvres courtesy of several restaurants including Ethan Stowell Restaurants, Kaspar's, Morton's The Steakhouse and Il Forniao. So fabulous were the "nitinis," which were liquid nitrogen smoking from inside martini glasses.
