WEDDING SPOTLIGHT: Jennifer & Jerry wed at the Palace Ballroom!
You might have seen those romantic comedies, you know, where the protagonists share almost nothing in common yet remarkably through a series of romantic and light hearted events fall madly in love with each other? Well, this story seems to have jumped off the big screen and into the Puget Sound in the case of Seattle Times reporter, Jennifer Sullivan and her detective husband, Jerry Riener. As a new reporter for the Seattle Times, Jennifer went to lunch with Jerry and his bosses, at the end of the meal she discovered that Jerry didn’t trust reporters. However, after a series of emails they discover they had much more in common than either had previously thought including 90s music, running and wine. After several years they opened Guardian Cellars together in 2007. The lovely couple married at the Palace Ballroom in the Summer of 2011, and with the help of Sugarcomb Event Design, “we transformed the ballroom into a vision of chic-details and warmth”, says Jennifer in a recent email.
Jennifer chose Luly Yang to design her wedding gown, a signature piece made of rose-colored silk faille. With regards to working with Luly and her team Jennifer remarks; “the entire staff at Luly Yang Couture exuded professionalism, knowledge, experience and a deep pride in their work… Ms. Yang, herself, played a key role in the creation of the dress of my dreams. We discussed some minor changes to her design (adding a sash, reducing the ruffles and shortening the train) and she created what I’m certain is the most gorgeous gown in the world!”
