SPOTLIGHTED : Common Folk Co. Goes Glam For Halloween
I have always been drawn to Fall. Growing up, my Mom would begin her pumpkin pie baking, slow roast stews and a menagerie of root vegetable dishes. Our home smelled of pie and apple cider as the leaves were turning colors. Those indelible scents and memories were awakened last weekend as I stumbled into the most enchanting shop, appropriately named Common Folk Co. Walking in stirred that comfortable feeling of home pairing nostalgic aromas - a friendly voice asks "would you like a cup of cider?" Yes...!
Decorations, ornaments and keepsakes, just waiting to be collected, adorn this precious shop with whimsy, chic and style. Kathryn Straub, co-owner with her husband Eric Straub, calls her unique shop and taste "urban eclectic."
Anada Label, Ilona Steelhammer and Elizabeth Johnson are just a few of the local artisans that Common Folk Co. highlight and are proud to represent. Each of these artists are currently displaying extremely unique, handcrafted, Halloween decor ranging from elaborate masks, folk sculptures and silver witches.
There was a time when Halloween did not compete with Christmas in the decoration department but in the last decade, it has become a close rival. Common Folk Co. is brimming with style ideas to inspire your creativity and help you design a seasonal theme that will delight your family and friends.
Simple, thoughtful gestures, and a spirit of kinship - these are the things that make memories at holiday time. These are the impressions you'll leave with from a visit to Common Folk Co., trust me!
