Kristen and James say "I Do" at the Palace Ballroom
Congratulations are in order for Kristen Heller and James Scott who said “I Do” earlier this fall! The Northwest-raised couple met while working at Microsoft in 2007. Kristen and her fiancé wanted an unconventional location to hold their wedding, something without the “banquet hall” feel. Therefore the ceremony was held at the Palace Ballroom, a part of the Tom Douglas network, which includes such restaurants as Dahlia Lounge, Lola, Cuoco and Ting Momo. The exposed brick walls and vintage windows gave Kristen the opportunity to explore the “cozy, romantic, urban cocktail party” that she had been dreaming about!
Did you know that Mr. Douglas was a contender on Iron Chef America and that he is a chef for the sensational show Teatro ZinZanni?
Kristen chose to purchase her wedding gown at Luly Yang Couture, the fashion designer has her studio boutique on the corner of Fourth Avenue and University Street. “Luly Yang was where I had my first appointment for a wedding dress. It was totally the experience that I envisioned and the other two locations I went very much paled in comparison”, says the bride. Her gorgeous gown is named “Finnia” by Enzoani; and it was the fit, textual components and pleating on the skirt that made Kristen fall in love with it!
Finally, Kristen and James hired the popular wedding photographer Laurel McConnell to document their ceremony. Please enjoy images from the wedding ceremony and a big thank you to Laurel McConnell for making these pictures available to Spotlight Seattle!
