Count Down Begins to the Evening of Hope
On Saturday, February 4, 2012, the Seattle Hotel Association (SHA) will be showcasing their contributions to the community at the 15th Annual Evening of Hope Gala. The 2012 beneficiary is the Seattle Police Foundation (SPF), raising support and awareness for the Seattle Police Department. All of the Evening of Hope proceeds with benefit SPF. As noted on SHA’s Save the Date page for the gala, “SPF was founded on the premise that a safe and viable community is the result of strong partnerships supporting public safety. To that end, we help keep our community safe by investing in community outreach, training, technology, and equipment programs in partnership with the Seattle Police Department.”
The Evening of Hope will be honoring Gil Kerlikowske and Anna Laszlo. Mr. Kerlikowske is the Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy and former Seattle Police Chief. His wife, Mrs. Laszlo is a national leader in criminal justice research and programming. Together, the two have had made wonderful contributions to our community here in the Pacific Northwest.
The Evening of Hope Gala was created in 1996. Since the gala’s founding over the past fifteen years, proceeds from the event have raised well over $3.7 million for local charities such as Northwest Aids, Puget Sound Affiliate and the Pike Place Market Foundation, just to name a few!
