Pink Carpet Project: Seattle Fashion Stands with Planned Parenthood
Seattle fashion designers unite for the Pink Carpet Project to support Planned Parenthood! On Thursday, March 1st at 8pm at the Fred Wildlife Refuge, local fashion designers, models and hair and make-up artists will be coming together to support Planned Parenthood. This show will be happening in a direct response to the Susan G. Komen foundation’s attempt to cut critical funding to Planned Parenthood’s preventative clinical breast exams to low-income women. The Pink Carpet project hopes that the event will bring awareness to the public about this crucial issue.
Some of the fashion designer participants include Lizzie Parker and Lisa Vian hunter, who were both featured in NBC’s upcoming show “Fashion Star” and Katie Chrisman, a 2010 Seattle Magazine Seamless in Seattle winner, among various other distinguished designers. To add to the excitement, the show will also include musical performances by The Heavenly Spies Burlesque Troupe, The Can Can Castaways, Fuchsia Foxxx and DJ Sharadawn.
Preceding the show, a short discussion about the significance of the mammogram services will take place, which will be hosted by the Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest, Anna Kaminski.
