The American Cancer Society Presents: “Light a Candle for Hope”
By: Kaitlin Andreas
On Saturday May 5th , the American Cancer Society is holding their 3rd Annual Night of Hope Gala at Tulalip Resort. A black-tie event complete with dinner, auctions, and live entertainment all in benefit of this ground-breaking organization.
As the largest non-governmental cancer research association, the American Cancer Society is dedicated to saving lives and creating more birthdays. Through their commitment to cancer patients and cancer survivors, the American Cancer Society has turned research into results and contributed to the decrease of the cancer death rate. Since 1946, the organization has spent over $3.4 billion on cancer research to support those who suffer from this deadly disease. Now is your opportunity to become a part of that miraculous accomplishment.
Come out and enjoy this elegant fundraising event! Dinner will be provided by the Award Winning Chefs of Tulalip Resort and entertainment by Brickhouse Show Band and Ultra High-Energy Dance Band. Be sure to make your bids at the silent auction and raise your paddles as John Curley of 97.3 KIRO FM auctions off some amazing items!
As the audience members each raise a paddle during the auction, they will be supporting the children and their families who suffer from cancer . 100 percent of the funds raised will benefit Camp Good Times. “The greatest camp you never want your child to have to attend.” This week-long, free summer camp program is medically supervised for cancer patients and their siblings. Creating a family and a support network, the goal for Camp Goodtimes is to “help improve the quality of life for youth affected by pediatric cancer.” Support Camp Good Times by making sure to raise your paddle and bid on one of the amazing “fun in the sun” getaways, private wine tastings, dance lessons or another incredible experience!
Sponsors of the Night of Hope Gala include Costco Wholesale; Fluke Corporation; The Everett Clinic; Celgene; Swedish Medical Center; Nintendo; Premera Blue Cross and MD Marine Electric.
