Seattle Opera Debuts Madama Butterfly on Saturday May 5th
Along with a FREE Simulcast at the Key Arena Giacomo Puccini’s production of Madama Butterfly will be showcasing at the Seattle Opera beginning Saturday May 5th. Madama Butterfly is a love story about an American Naval officer who falls for a Japanese maiden. She goes across borders to become his bride and then struggles with a somber quandary while patiently waiting for his return. This magical love story has been one of the world’s most favored for over a century and would be a shame to miss.
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Seattle Center, there will also be a FREE simulcast of Madama Butterfly on Saturday May 5th at 7:30pm at the Key Arena. A simulcast is a live video feed of the opera performance that will be occurring at the Seattle Opera’s McCaw Hall. It will be projected on a 50’ by 80’ screen with HD surround sound. This is the Seattle Opera’s first-ever simulcast and since the event is FREE, only 8,000 tickets with be dispersed!
