Step into STIFF: Seattle True Independent Film Festival
Starting today, May 4th, until May 12th the Seattle True Independent Film Festival (STIFF) is celebrating the making of creative, independent, underground and experimental zero-budget films. For the next ten days the event will feature films, parties, live music and comedy. STIFF is sponsored by many organizations and businesses including Seattle Weekly, Deblume, Wing-It Productions, the University of Washington, Indie Flix, and more.
Founded in 2005, STIFF is dedicated to filling their program with local filmmakers from Seattle and around the Northwest area. STIFF showcases the most interesting, original movies that may otherwise be passed up by other film festivals. They value the creative and the innovative and are devoted to Seattle’s rising talent.
Happening this year at STIFF is the 2nd annual Student Film Block at the Varsity Theatre on May 10th. Enjoy films by Seattle’s young, talented filmmakers. Friday May 11th, watch the festivals strangest pictures at the Grand Illusion. Wrap up the festival on May 12th at 2 o’clock at the Grand Illusions with adult animation and cocktails!
