Glass Distillery Launches Glass Vodka and Opens Tasting Room
Seattle’s Glass Distillery has launched its new flagship spirit, Glass Vodka, along with the opening of its tasting room in Seattle’s SODO district. Glass Distillery’s innovative and beautifully crafted spirit is created from Pacific Northwest grapes and is refined through an elegant 17.5-foot tall copper still contrived in Germany. What distinguishes Glass Vodka from typical spirits is its pure taste that won’t leave consumers with the unpleasant burning feeling, characteristic of ordinary vodkas. Glass Vodka has a faintly sweetened flavor, it is 80 proof, 40% ABV and can be obtained at the distillery, as well as many wholesale outlets.
Glass Distillery was founded in 2011 by Ian MacNeil and Adrian Higginbotham, who collaborated with the hope of creating exclusive grape-based vodka from premium Washington wines. MacNeil and Higginbotham desired for their distillery to support Washington wineries. It is their belief that quality grape-based vodka will be the next big market across Washington and even the country.
MacNeil’s love for Seattle’s glass art industry inspired the design and decor of Glass Distillery’s unique tasting room. A few things to note about this exquisitely constructed establishment are the elegant concrete and iridescent glass embedded floors, in addition to a 16-foot tall wood and glass door.
