A Day in the SPOTLIGHT with Jamie Peha
Since becoming a Spotlight Seattle contributor last November I have been busy growing my company Peha Promotions, a strategic marketing, pr and events company. Peha Promotions produces as well as owns a variety of lifestyle events including the sell-out Seattle Wine and Food Experience held each February at Seattle Center Exhibition Hall (5th annual event scheduled for February 24, 2013) and Unwine'd: Celebrate Oregon Wine in Portland, showcasing the bounty of the Oregon wine industry.
I've been busy developing my radio show, TableTalk - Radio That Tastes Good with co-host "The Chef in the Hat" Thierry Rautureau. The show features winemakers, chefs, farmers, restauratuers and tastemakers in the Northwest. Tune in the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 8 am (1150 AM KKNW) or listen to archived shows at www.tabletalkradio.net; the associated blog site where we frequently post articles about wine, food, events and tastemakers in the Northwest. Its a great place to stay up to date on culinary happenings. I made my "big" television debut as a guest on Check Please, Northwest on KCTS Channel 9 in June and with Spotlight Seattle spent time interviewing guests at Taste Washington Seattle on live camera.
On the personal side I spent much of the month of May on an actual vacation; cruising around the British Isles with stops in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and France; saw lots of castles and churches, visited distilleries and breweries and learned all about the history of the area. On the home front my husband and I have just updated our backyard and are looking forward to spending many relaxing summer nights on the new patio. I'm especially excited to tend to the newly planted vegetable and herb gardens.
