LPGA Legends Swing for a Cure Tournament
The LPGA Legends Swing for a Cure tournament begins Sunday, July 29th to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure Puget Sound. This wonderful fundraising event will take place at the Inglewood Golf Club in Kenmore and gates will open at 9:00am. The tour will bring home, Washington native, JoAnne Carner, back to the place where she began her renowned golfing career. Carner earned 41 LPGA titles and won five U.S. Women’s Amateur Championships. Other recognized tournament participants will include LPGA superstars Rosie Jones, Patty Sheehan and Jan Stephenson. Come watch the most celebrated names in Women’s golf and help combat breast cancer!
The Puget Sound Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is devoted to battling breast cancer. This organizations' income goes toward funding grants to programs that offer mammogram screenings, breast health education and outreach treatment support. In 2011, two million dollars were provided to Seattle organizations and 817,000 went to global research by Komen Puget Sound. The Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation envisions a world without breast cancer and has become the largest private funder for breast cancer services in Washington State.
